How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2002 Chevrolet S10?

To replace engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, the ignition should first be turned off, the wing nuts of the air cleaner cover and the air cleaner outlet duct relaxed and the air intake assembly should next be moved aside. Drain the coolant system down to the point below the ect sensor and remove the ect sensor harness connector disengage it prior to lifting out the sensor. For installation thin coat the threads only with gm p/n 12346004 sealer or equivalent and then install the ect sensor in the engine and fixed; tighten it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Connect ect sensor harness connector, refill cooling system, install the air cleaner outlet duct assembly, tighten wing nuts and lastly connect the negative Battery Cable.
