To install a substitute to thermostat drain the cooling system partially. Take off the air cleaner outlet duct, throttle body bracket and water outlet housing. Take out the gasket and thermostat, wash the surfaces, and place the new thermostat to install having a gasket. Re-fit the housing, use the bolts and fill the cooling system, and check against leakage.
