2002 Chevrolet Tracker Crankshaft Seal Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the front crankshaft seal on 2002 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: The replacement process for the crankshaft front oil seal starts with Battery Cable negative disconnection. Extract first the Crankshaft Pulley together with the Timing Belt. A screwdriver tip should receive tape treatment before using it to carefully extract the crankshaft front oil seal from its position between the crankshaft and front cover. Decorate the new crankshaft front oil seal with chassis grease gm p/n 1051344 (or equivalent) before setting its position into the retainer by gentle hammer taps until it rests at the same edge level. Connect the negative Battery Cable first after you reinstall the Timing Belt along with the Crankshaft Pulley. Fasten the bolt until it reaches 15 nm (11 ft-lbs) and begin engine operation.
