• Q: How to replace the fuel rail assembly on 2002 Chevrolet Tracker?

  A: The fuel pressure must be reduced before starting replacement of the Fuel Rail assembly. Remove the electrical connector from the Fuel Injector before extracting the bracket at the Intake Manifold rear which includes all hold down bracket bolts from the Intake Manifold. Remove the high pressure and return hoses from the fuel pipes followed by removing the fuel pipes hold down bracket bolt. Take out the Fuel Rail by discarding the Fuel Rail's three retaining bolts. The Fuel Injector must be taken off afterwards. The first step of installation requires applying a thin motor oil coat onto the fuel injectors o-rings before mounting the fuel injectors to the Fuel Rail . Secure the Fuel Rail onto the Intake Manifold according to the fastener notice in service precautions before tightening the 3 retaining bolts to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Move forward by installing the fuel pipes and holding bolt before tightening it to 25 n.m (19 lb ft). Refit the Intake Manifold reinforcement bracket along with both retaining bolts then tighten them to 25 n.m (19 lb ft). Install the electrical connectors onto the fuel injectors after which you can perform the installation of the scan tool. Activate the fuel pump using the scan tool when the engine remains off during ignition activation. Look for any leaks and repair them accordingly.
