2001 Chevrolet Tracker Fuel Rail Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel rail assembly on 2001 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: The first step to replace the Fuel Rail assembly entails lowering fuel pressure from the system. The first step begins with disconnecting the electrical connector from the Fuel Injector before removing the hold down brackets at the rear of the Intake Manifold and the hold down bracket bolts from both the Intake Manifold. Then remove the brackets. The replacement process begins by taking out the high pressure and return hoses from the fuel pipes followed by removal of the fuel pipes hold down bracket bolt. The Fuel Rail removal process starts with removing its three retaining bolts then pulling out the rail component. The next step requires removal of the fuel injectors. Before assembly start by applying motor oil on the fuel injectors o-rings then install the fuel injectors onto the Fuel Rail. It is essential to follow the fastener notice in service precautions before attaching the Fuel Rail to the Intake Manifold. Then install its 3 retaining bolts with a torque setting of 30 n.m (22 lb ft). You should install the fuel pipes with the hold down bolt properly secured at 25 n.m (19 lb ft). Install the Intake Manifold reinforcement bracket along with both retaining bolts while tightening them to 25 n.m (19 lb ft). You need to connect electrical connectors to fuel injectors after installing a scan tool and turning on the ignition while keeping the engine power off then activating the Fuel Pump through the scan tool. Perform one last step by checking for leaks before performing necessary repairs.
