• Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2002 Chevrolet Tracker?

  A: Before performing maintenance on the Fuel Injector you must reduce the fuel pressure. First disconnect the electrical connector from the Fuel Injector before removing the bracket supports at the rear of the Intake Manifold and all bracket holding bolts attached to the Intake Manifold. Fire up the service by detaching fuel pipe high pressure and return hoses before unfastening the fuel pipes hold down bracket bolt followed by unscrewing the 3 retaining bolts securing the Fuel Rail. Then remove the Fuel Rail. You need to take out the fuel injectors as the next procedure step. Apply motor oil on fuel injectors o-rings before placing the fuel injectors into the Fuel Rail. Then fasten the Fuel Rail onto the Intake Manifold while securing the Fuel Rail retaining bolts at 30 n.m (22 lb ft torques). After securing the fuel pipes hold down bolt at 25 n.m (19 lb ft), proceed with installing the Intake Manifold reinforcement bracket with both bolts tightened to 25 n.m (19 lb ft). Follow these steps to complete the installation: use fuel injectors electrical connectors then install a scan tool together with on ignition but stopping the engine, activate the fuel pump tool and finish with leak checking requiring repairs when needed.
