2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the alternator on 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: The process starts by removing the Drive Belt and disconnecting the battery negative cable. Begin by disconnecting the nut that attaches the positive Battery Cable to the generator followed by removing the a/c line mounting bracket bolt from the engine lift hook. You should remove the right engine lift hook bolts before unmounting the lift hook. Start by removing the 3 generator mounting bolts before extracting the generator itself. Secure the generator first by installing three bolts until they reach a torque of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). The generator requires a 9 n.m (80 lb in) torque when you install its positive Battery Cable with the proper nut. Fasten the engine lift hook by installing two bolts while tightening them to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Pull the bolt through the a/c line bracket before inserting it into the lift hook while tightening it to a torque level of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reinstall the Drive Belt while also reattaching the battery negative cable.
