Begin by removing the Drive Belt and then disconnecting the regulator's electrical connector. You need to remove the four generator front mounting bolts together with the rear mounting bolt while disconnecting the generator output (BAT) terminal nut to pull the generator out. First install the generator onto the vehicle then tighten the mounting bolts but keep them loose at this stage. Attach the generator output (BAT) lead then put on the generator output (BAT) nut in a slightly loose manner. First secure all mounting bolts at 50 n.m (37 lb ft) while the generator output (BAT) terminal nut requires 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Complete the installation steps by connecting the regulator's electrical connector before adding the Drive Belt and reinstalling the air cleaner and reconnecting the battery negative cable.
