Alternator

In order to replace the Alternator, it is necessary to first disconnect the negative Battery Cable and to take off the accessory Drive Belt. If necessary, remove engine sight shield and disconnect the generator electrical connector. Remove the generator cable from a slot where the boot slides down and reveals the terminal stud removing the cable nut on the terminal stud and the generator cable is taken off. Subsequently, take out the bolts of the generator and take out the generator. For installation, re-position the generator to its location and insert the generator bolts using a torque value of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reconnect the generator cable by connecting it and tightening the generator cable nut to the terminal stud to 9 n.m (80lb in), and sliding the boot onto the terminal stud. Connect the electrical connector of the generator, replace the engine sight shield if required, and replace the accessory Drive Belt lastly and reconnect the negative Battery Cable.

Begin by disconnecting the battery negative cable and then remove the air cleaner assembly. Begin by removing the Drive Belt followed by disconnecting the regulator electrical connection. You must remove front mounting bolts from the generator along with rear mounting bolt and generator output (BAT) terminal nut before pulling out the generator. After placing the generator properly on the vehicle you should install the mounting bolts loosely. Tighten the generator output (BAT) lead while installing the generator output (BAT) nut. Secure both the generator's mounting bolts to 50 nm (37 lb ft) and the generator output (BAT) terminal nut to 10 nm (89 lb in). Proceed by connecting the regulator electrical connector while placing the Drive Belt and reinstalling the air cleaner and lastly reattach the battery negative cable.

In order to replace the generator, one should initially remove the negative Battery Cable and the generator electrical connector. Now slide the boot down to show the terminal stud and remove the cable nut from the terminal and pull off the generator cable. Secondly, take off the Drive Belt, the generator bolts, and the generator. When installing, the generator should be anchored in its position and secured with the generator bolts, tighten to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Install the Drive Belt and connect the generator cable to the generator by first putting in the cable and then the cable nut for the generator that should be tightened 9 n.m (80 lb in). Lastly, slide over the boot the terminal stud, check the generator electrical connector, and reconnect the negative Battery Cable.

Disassembling the Alternator requires starting with the removal of the accessory Drive Belt and detachment of the negative Battery Cable. The service begins with removing the generator mounting bolts followed by disconnecting electrical generator connections before generator removal. The installation process starts by setting the generator into position then tightening generator mounting bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reinstall the electrical connections onto the generator while making sure the b+ nut gets tightened up to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Screw the accessory Drive Belt back into place before you tighten the negative Battery Cable bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft).

To change the Alternator, cut off the negative Battery Cable and the generator electrical connector. Retract the generator cable boot to reveal the terminal stud, pull off the generator cable nut and the terminal, and remove the generator cable. After that, take out the Drive Belt and the generator bolts to pull out the generator. For installation, start by putting the generator in position and locking it using the generator bolts that must be fastened up to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Place the Drive Belt again then connect the generator cable to the generator through placing the cable first and the generator cable nut that should be tight enough up to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Lastly, put on the boot around the terminal stud, reattach the generator electrical connector, and reattach the negative Battery Cable.

Start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and removing the air cleaner assembly for the Alternator replacement. Begin by removing the Drive Belt and then disconnecting the regulator's electrical connector. You need to remove the four generator front mounting bolts together with the rear mounting bolt while disconnecting the generator output (BAT) terminal nut to pull the generator out. First install the generator onto the vehicle then tighten the mounting bolts but keep them loose at this stage. Attach the generator output (BAT) lead then put on the generator output (BAT) nut in a slightly loose manner. First secure all mounting bolts at 50 n.m (37 lb ft) while the generator output (BAT) terminal nut requires 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Complete the installation steps by connecting the regulator's electrical connector before adding the Drive Belt and reinstalling the air cleaner and reconnecting the battery negative cable.

Begin the auxiliary generator replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then removing the Drive Belt. Begin by unplugging the auxiliary generator electrical connector then remove bolts from the generator before extracting the generator itself. First lower the boot to access the terminal stud on the generator cable. Then remove the generator cable nut and disconnect the cable. First remove the bracket bolt if needed before removing this bracket from the system. Put the bracket back if it was removed then bolt it to the bracket and tighten it to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reconnect the generator cable to the auxiliary generator through cable installation followed by secure attachment with the nut which requires 9 n.m (80 lb in) torque before slipping the boot over the terminal stud. Secure the auxiliary generator with bolts which need to be tightened to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Proceed then by reconnecting the electrical connector for the auxiliary generator while restoring the Drive Belt before completing with negative Battery Cable reconnection.

Remove the generator front mounting bolts, the rear mounting bolt, and the generator output (BAT) terminal nut.
