  A: Removing the Hood Cable starts with disconnecting it from the primary latch using a suitable tool to open the cable clip then removing the housing from the latch. The cable fasteners should be detached from the radiator support before slowly extracting the grommet through the cowl to complete the cable breakdown. After removing the left cowl side trim panel workers should pull the cable through the cowl opening to access and remove screws that fixate the cable assembly to the cowl side panel. Route the cable through the cowl front before installing screws which should tighten to 2 N.m (18 lb in) for securing cable to cowl side panel. Reinstall the left cowl side trim panel before pulling the cable assembly through the cowl front to properly seat the grommet.
