    Q:
How to replace the Release Hood Cable on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the hood cable replacement process by using an appropriate tool to open the cable clip which disconnects the cable from the primary latch before removing the cable housing from the latch. Start by disconnecting the cable from the radiator support fasteners then carefully pull the cable grommet out from the cowl. Disconnect the cable from the cowl before removing the left cowl side trim panel. Pick the cable up from the cowl opening to get at the screws which hold the cable assembly to the cowl side board. To install the cable you must direct it through the cowl front before placing the nuts to keep the cable on the cowl side panel then tighten them to 2 N.m (18 lb in). After reinstalling the left cowl side trim panel, extract the cable assembly from the cowl front until the grommet properly seats. Then connect the cable to fasteners within the radiator support before using an appropriate tool to clamp the cable clip and join the cable to the primary latch. The hood operation should be tested for proper functionality.

    Q:
How to replace the Hood Cable on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
A suitable tool helps disconnect the cable from the hood cable by opening the clip before you pry the housing from the latch. First detach the cable from its fasteners that secure it to the radiator support and then ease the grommet out through the cowl opening. Start by disconnecting the cable from the cowl then remove the left cowl side trim panel. The cable assembly to cowl side panel screws need to be removed after pulling the cable through the cowl opening. Place the cable on the cowl front side before using screws to attach it to the cowl side panel and applying force of 2 N.m (18 lb in) for tightening. After reinstalling the left cowl side trim panel you should insert the cable assembly through the cowl opening until the grommet properly seats before fastening it to the radiator support fasteners. Use a suitable tool to clamp the cable clip before connecting the cable to the hood cable. You need to check that the hood functions properly before finishing the installation.
