  A: To service and repair the Throttle Body, start off by removing the air cleaner outlet duct. Examine the bore of the Throttle Body as well as the surface of the throttle valve plate for deposits, making certain throttle valve is opened to inspect all surfaces. Do not immerse-clean or use strong solvents on assemblies that have the throttle position (TP) sensor, idle air control (IAC) valve, or sealed throttle shaft bearings; cleaning may damage electric components, sensors, and seals or o-rings, and solvents could degrade non-serviceable throttle shaft bearings. Avoid wire brushes or scrapers, as they are bad for Throttle Body parts, and do not use methyl ethyl ketone cleaners, which will damage parts needlessly. Clean the bore of Throttle Body and throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel, gm top engine cleaner (P/N 1052626) or its equivalent.
