- Q: How to replace the positive battery cable on 2003 Buick LeSabre?A: Disconnect the battery negative cable and then disconnect the positive Battery Cable from the battery. Unscrew the nut holding the positive Battery Cable into the rear fuse block taking it off next the right side garnish molding, the right front and rear carpet retainers and the right closeout insulator panel. Next, remove the Battery Cable retainers one of the rocker panel area, then take off the retaining nut and disconnects the Battery Cable one of the underhood fuse block. Remove the Battery Cable retainer from the body side rail and unseat the Battery Cable grommet from the cowl panel . Gently extrude the Battery Cable through the cowl panel and out of the vehicle. For installation, insert the Battery Cable through the opening in cowl panel and install the cable grommet by pulling the cable in the direction of the front engine compartment. Attach the Battery Cable retainer to the body side rail and connect the cable to the under hood electrical center it with nut tightened to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Route the Battery Cable along the rocker panel and install cable retainers, reinstall the right closeout insulator panel, the right front and rear carpet retainers, and right side garnish molding. Connect the positve battere cable to the rear fuse block then tightate nut to 15 n.m (11 lb ft), then connect the positive battere cable to the battere then tightate the bolt to 17 n.m .(13 lb ft) then recharge the battere system. At last, reconnecting the battery negative cable.
