  A: Replacing the power recliner motor of the front seat requires disabling the SIR system beforehand. First separate the front seat before you can remove its inner seat adjuster track cover and inner recliner trim cover. You need to partially take off the seat back cover along with its pad to get to the power recliner motor. Unplug all electrical connectors from both the power recliner motor and the recliner position sensor when present. Begin motor power recliner installation by first removing the push-on nut at the end of the recliner rod and also taking off the fastener which attaches the seat back frame to the power recliner motor. Move the recliner rod outside of the seat back recliner and power recliner motor before removing the power recliner motor from the seat's framework. Remove the recliner position sensor from the motor when it is equipped. Before installation mount the recliner position sensor to the recliner motor if present then position the power recliner motor within the seat back frame. Run the recliner rod through the power seat back recliner motor and the recliner assembly before installing a new push-on nut at the rod's end. The power recliner motor fastener should be installed while tightening it to a torque of 9 N.m (80 lb in). Install the wiring harness to its initial location before connecting the electrical connector to both the power recliner motor and recliner position sensor when available. Once done, install the inner recliner trim cover and inner seat adjuster track cover followed by the seat back cover and pad and front seat. Enable the SIR system afterward.
