The first step for seat adjuster motor replacement requires SIR system disablement. First remove the vehicle seat and its cushion to reach the seat adjuster motors. Determine which adjustment motor requires replacement among the vertical rear motor, vertical front motor and horizontal motor types. Disconnect both seat adjuster drive cables as well as the electrical connector which connects to the motor assembly. The bracket attaching motor inserts from the factory need removal. Drill out the factory motor insert from the seat motor plate bottom side by using a 3/16 in drill bit while the seat rests on a dry clean surface with its back facing upward. Position the new seat adjuster motor (1,2,3) on the motor plate and fasten it through the motor insert placed into the motor grommet of the new motor. Use the bolt to fasten the motor onto the motor plate while tightening it to 4N.m (36 lb in). Install the motor and cables while also replacing the electrical connector then put back seat cushion and seat into the vehicle. To complete the operation enable the SIR system while performing memory seat calibration as needed.
