    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Seat Motor on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for seat adjuster motor replacement requires SIR system disablement. First remove the vehicle seat and its cushion to reach the seat adjuster motors. Determine which adjustment motor requires replacement among the vertical rear motor, vertical front motor and horizontal motor types. Disconnect both seat adjuster drive cables as well as the electrical connector which connects to the motor assembly. The bracket attaching motor inserts from the factory need removal. Drill out the factory motor insert from the seat motor plate bottom side by using a 3/16 in drill bit while the seat rests on a dry clean surface with its back facing upward. Position the new seat adjuster motor (1,2,3) on the motor plate and fasten it through the motor insert placed into the motor grommet of the new motor. Use the bolt to fasten the motor onto the motor plate while tightening it to 4N.m (36 lb in). Install the motor and cables while also replacing the electrical connector then put back seat cushion and seat into the vehicle. To complete the operation enable the SIR system while performing memory seat calibration as needed.

    Q:
How to replace the Seat Motor on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disabling the SIR system is the first step to replace any seat adjuster motor. First disconnect the seat from the vehicle while removing the seat cushion to reach the seat adjuster motors. Determine if the replacement motor should be installed on the rear vertical adjuster motor , front vertical adjuster motor or horizontal adjuster motor . Disconnect the electrical connector then detach the seat adjuster drive cables from their respective places. Detach the factory motor inserts which hold the motor in position to the bracket. Position the seat motor plate on a dry surface with facing upwards while employing a 3/16 inch drilling tool for removing the factory motor inserts positioned at the seat plate's bottom face. Place the new seat adjuster motor (1, 2, 3) onto the motor plate before fastening it by putting the motor insert into the grommet of the new motor. Use a bolt to fix the motor onto its corresponding motor plate. Fasten it until it reaches 4 N.m (36 lb in) torque. The next procedure involves reattaching the electrical connector followed by installing drive cables to the seat adjuster then placing back both the seat cushion and seat into the auto. The final stage includes enabling the SIR system with an option to perform memory seat calibration if needed.

    Q:
How to replace the Seat Motor on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing the seat adjuster motor, deactivate the SIR system. Then, take away the seat from the car and disconnect the seat cushion to reach the seat adjuster motors. Select which of the two motors requires replacement. In the example provided by the user, it is noted that one is labeled as motor A and the other as motor B. These labels do not always specify the purpose of the motors, so it would be wise to check the latter by measuring the amperage and voltage of each (Fig. 7, Fig. 8) or by noting the performance of each motor over standard load conditions. The motor that performs more poorly or draws more current and power is the motor that would require replacement. the rear vertical adjuster motor , rear vertical adjuster motor , front vertical adjuster motor , front vertical adjuster motor , or the horizontal adjuster motor . Remove the seat adjuster drive cables from the motor and remove the electrical connector. Remove the factory motor inserts and hold motor to bracket by laying seat back with the seat motor plate facing down and drill out with a 3/16 blade shank drilling from the bottom side of seat motor plate. After taking out the motor, place the new seat adjuster motor (1,2,3) onto the motor plate and fix it with the motor insert installed in the motor grommet of the new motor. Install the bolt to secure motor to motor plate and tighten it to 4Nm (36 lb in). Put back the electrical connector and plug in the seat adjuster drive cables. Then install the seat cushion and set the seat back in the car. Last, turn on the SIR system and, if necessary, adjust the memory seats.

    Q:
How to replace the Seat Motor on Cadillac Seville? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disabling the SIR system represents the first step before starting motor replace operations on the seat adjuster. First remove the seat from the vehicle before taking off the seat cushion to reach the seat adjuster motors. Choose which type of motor needs replacement among the rear vertical adjuster motor , front vertical adjuster motor or horizontal adjuster motor . The seat adjuster drive cables need to be detached from the motor after disconnecting its electrical connector. Drill the factory motor inserts out from the bottom side of the seat motor plate by placing the seat backside down on a clean dry surface using a 3/16 in drill bit. To secure the new seat adjuster motor on its motor plate, first insert the motor insert into the motor grommet of the motor followed by using the bolt to connect the motor to the motor plate and tightening it to 4 N.m (36 lb in). Reestablish the seat adjuster drive cables along with reconnecting the electrical connector. Position the seat first followed by the seat cushion and reinstall them to the vehicle. The system activation for SIR must be enabled and either memory seat calibration needs to be performed if applicable.

How to Service and Repair the Seat Motor on a Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
After disabling the SIR system you must remove the vehicle seat followed by taking off the seat cushion to reach the seat adjuster motors. Check which motor needs replacement between the rear vertical adjuster motor and the front vertical adjuster motor along with the horizontal adjuster motor . Remove both drive cables from the seat adjuster and disconnect its power connector. Before drilling the factory motor insert on the bottom side of the seat motor plate keep the seat on a dry surface. Use a 3/16 in drill bit to remove the factory motor insert. The new seat adjuster motor (1, 2, 3) goes onto the motor plate and achieves secure placement by mounting the motor insert into the motor grommet of the new motor then adding the bolt and tightening to 4N.m (36 lb in). Reconnect all electrical wires before installing the drive cables of the seat adjuster. Then attach the seat cushion and reinstall the seat back into the vehicle and enable the SIR system.
