- Q: How to replace the lower intake manifold on 2003 Buick Park Avenue?A: To replace the lower Intake Manifold, you will first have to remove the supercharger, Thermostat Housing, the drive belt tensioner, and the egr valve outlet pipe, before disconnecting the ect and temperature sensor's electrical connector. Subsequently, take loose the lower Intake Manifold bolts and remove the lower Intake Manifold, clean and check the manifold. For installation, clean the cylinder block and heads, along with Intake Manifold sealing procedure from all oil using an admissible solvent, and use gm approved sealer at the leads of Intake Manifold seals, and remove any adhesive at the leads of Intake Manifold bolts and bolt holes. Apply thread locking compound (GM P/N 12345739 - in Canada P/N 10953541) to the bolts for the Intake Manifold and install the lower Intake Manifold Gasket followed by the lower Intake Manifold. Apply threadlocker 272 gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the bolt threads, insert the lower Intake Manifold bolts including the 2 hidden bolts, and tighten them in sequence (1-12) to 15nm (11ft .lbs.). Lastly, install egr valve outlet pipe, drive belt tensioner, reconnect the electrical connector from ect, install the Thermostat Housing and finally the supercharger.
