To replace the lower Intake Manifold, you first need to disconnect the negative battery. I would remove the upper Intake Manifold, drain the cooling system, and remove the upper
Radiator Hose. Next, remove the generator and the drive belt tensioner, and a egr valve outlet pipe. Then remove the lower Intake Manifold bolts and the lower Intake Manifold itself. For installation, clean the cylinder block, heads, and Intake Manifold sealing of all oil with a suitable solvent and the Intake Manifold bolts and bolt holes of an adhesive compound. Apply thread locking compound (GM P/N 12345739 or equivalent) on the Intake Manifold bolt threads when installing. Install the lower Intake Manifold and torquing the bolts in sequence to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Then reconnect the negative
Battery Cable, the egr valve outlet pipe, the drive belt tensioner, and generator. Next, install the upper Radiator Hose, fill the cooling system, and last but not least install the upper Intake Manifold reattaching the negative Battery Cable.
