You must disconnect the fuel lines from under hood fasteners to reach Steering Shaft seal retaining bolts before removing these bolts and taking out the intermediate Steering Shaft seal from the vehicle. Place the fresh intermediate shaft seal inside the vehicle at its designated position according to the floor pan holes then fasten it with intermediate shaft seal bolts at a torque of 3 nm (27 inch lbs.). Beginning with the sequence of installing the fuel bundle, vacuum Brake Booster, and Steering Column and intermediate Steering Shaft. Steer the vehicle post-installation to make sure the intermediate Steering Shaft remains free from obstruction with the new intermediate Steering Shaft seal.
