How to replace the Trunk Lock Cylinder in the rear compartment lid on 2003 Buick Park Avenue?

You need to remove two items before replacing the rear compartment lid's lock cylinder. Take out the back up lamp assembly and the rear compartment lid trim. Take the three nuts free which keeps the lock cylinder attached to lid. Then disconnect the lock cylinder from lid. Install the lock cylinder onto the lid and secure the components properly as described in the fastener notice. Thread three nuts onto the lock cylinder then tighten its mounting to 9 n.m or 80 pound inch. Reassemble the rear compartment trim and the back up lamp assembly on top.
