2003 Cadillac DeVille Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2003 Cadillac DeVille?
A: Before you remove the ECT sensor, shut off the engine and make sure the coolant drops below where the sensor is located. After you disconnect the ECT sensor harness connector, take out the ECT sensor from the vehicle. Put sealer with GM P/N 1050805 on the threads, or an equal product, before you set the ECT sensor in place and tighten it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). After that, join the ECT sensor harness and restore coolant in the system. Be cautious when touching the coolant sensor, because damaging it will impact how the fuel control system works, and replace it only with the proper part number and apply the proper torque.
