• Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2003 Cadillac DeVille?

  A: The replacement procedure for the Intake Manifold begins by unfastening the 2 nuts which secure the sight shield after extracting it from the engine. You must disconnect coil module connectors from cold modules inside camshaft covers and separate both the dirty air pcv tube and fresh air pcv tube from the camshaft cover, as well as the fuel regulator vacuum tube and vacuum tubes from the air solenoid. Detach the fuel inlet and return quick-connect fittings from the Fuel Rail before removing the Fuel Rail bracket retaining nut from the lift bracket rear position. Engine coolant heater wire push nuts must be removed to set it aside when present. Disconnect the surge tank pipe exclusive of the Fuel Rail studs and unplug the 8 electrical connectors from the 8 fuel injectors followed by removing the 4 bolts that connect the Fuel Rail to the Intake Manifold . Press the entire Fuel Rail assembly and injectors into position using light mineral oil gm p/n 9981704 or clean engine oil or equivalent. Affix the four Fuel Rail bolts into position on the Intake Manifold and torque them to 10 nm using a 89 inch lbs. Measurement. Complete these installations for the fuel system: connect the 8 electrical connectors to the 8 fuel injectors then position the surge tank pipe onto the Fuel Rail studs and place the engine coolant heater wire on the Fuel Rail studs if your vehicle has this equipment. Screw on both push nuts and install the Fuel Rail bracket retaining nut at the rear lift bracket. Then tighten it to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.).
