2003 Chevrolet Express 3500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator on 2003 Chevrolet Express 3500?
A: The first step to change the A/C accumulator is to remove all refrigerant from the A/C system. You should begin by taking out the evaporator hose assembly and afterward you need to remove the four nuts from the A/C accumulator. Retain the accumulator nuts and ferrules while they should stay on the condenser tube. You should remove the A/C accumulator from its position on the condenser tube. O-rings must first be installed before joining the A/C accumulator to the condenser tube with the flow arrow facing towards the evaporator. You must attach the nuts to the A/C accumulator and tighten them to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). Put back the evaporator hose assembly and follow by evacuating the A/C system and recharging it. The Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A) should be used to conduct a leak test on all installed component fittings.
