2003 Chevrolet Malibu A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator on 2003 Chevrolet Malibu?
A: Begin the accumulator replacement process by collecting refrigerant then take off the right wheelhouse splash shield. Begin the maintenance by detaching the condenser hose assembly and the evaporator hose assembly from the accumulator and finally remove the accumulator bracket bolt. Remove the vehicle's accumulator bracket assembly as a unit before disassembling the accumulator away from its insulator and bracket. During installation apply appropriate amounts of new refrigerant oil to the new accumulator before attaching the insulator and bracket. Secure the accumulator bracket to the vehicle with the bolt while applying 10 n.m of torque (89 lb in). Bring together the condenser hose assembly with the evaporator hose assembly to the accumulator, reinstall the right wheelhouse splash shield once you have lowered the vehicle then recharge the a/c system. Finish fittings leak testing through the use of a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
