    In order to replace the accumulator, recover the refrigerant. Next, remove the right wheelhouse splash shield, which comes before the condenser hose assembly and the accumulator's evaporator hose assembly. Next, remove the accumulator bracket bolt and pry out the accumulator from the vehicle along with the bracket. Remove the accumulator from the insulator and bracket. After installation, connect the insulator and the bracket to the new accumulator and add the required amount of new refrigerant oil to the accumulator. Mount and fasten the accumulator bracket to the vehicle using 10 n.m (89 lb in) bolt. Reconnect the condenser hose assembly and the evaporator hose assembly to the accumulator and put back the right wheelhouse splash shield. Take the car down and attempt to recharge the a/c system. Lastly, test for leaks on the fittings of the component by using halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).

    The first step to replace the A/C accumulator requires proper refrigerant recovery before proceeding. The right front fender liner needs removal for access while immediately applying fittings that seal the condenser and evaporator opening to avoid contamination during the procedure. Before removal of the evaporator line bolt from the condenser unit handle the nuts and ferrules which will stay on the line gently. Proceed to remove the A/C accumulator from its installation. The installation requires O-rings to be placed on the liquid line followed by liquid line insertion into the A/C accumulator while tightening the nuts by hand. You should install the evaporator hose bolt and apply 25 N.m (18 lb ft) of torque to it. The A/C accumulator should have its liquid line fully inserted before applying 15 N.m (11 lb ft) torque to the accumulator nuts. Finish the process by evacuating the refrigerant system followed by charging and running a leak test on the A/C accumulator and reinstallation of the right front fender liner before lowering the vehicle.
