How to replace the steering knuckle on 2003 Chevrolet Malibu?

You must hoist the vehicle before beginning the Steering Knuckle replacement work. Before replacing the Steering Knuckle remove both the brake caliper and wheel drive shaft. The next step requires removal of bolts and nuts holding the Steering Knuckle to the strut before extracting the Steering Knuckle from the vehicle. Observe all fastener installation instructions that appear in service precautions documentation. Place the Steering Knuckle within the strut flange and fasten it in place with Steering Knuckle bolts followed by nuts which need torquing to 180 nm (133 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the wheel drive shaft after which you should mount the brake caliper before completing the process with a front wheel alignment check.
