How to replace the rear Trunk Lid Lift Support on 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

To install the rear compartment lid strut, open and prop the rear compartment. Take a small tool to raise the retainers on both ends of the strut. Unscrew the strut on the ball studs then screw the new strut on by aligning it with the ball studs and screw the new one. Close the compartment and the retainers.
