How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on 2003 Chevrolet SSR?

First disconnect the wiring harness plug and bolt to remove the vehicle speed sensor with its connected O-ring seal. Put the O-ring seal directly on the vehicle speed sensor and apply transmission fluid on it. Then push the sensor into the transmission case. Install the bolt by following the Service Precautions notice and tightening it to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.). Connect the wiring harness and its electrical connector to the vehicle speed sensor before you add transmission fluid as needed.
