2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Motor And Transmission Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the Motor and Transmission Mount on a 4L60-E/4L65-E on 2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?
A: The installation process starts by lifting the car and using transmission support equipment followed by transmission mount removal from the retaining bolts on transmission support hardware. You need to remove both transmission support retaining nuts then raise the transmission to minimize pressure on the mount. The transmission mount removal process starts with undoing the transmission mount to transmission or transfer case adapter mounting bolts but only raising the transmission enough to extract the old mount. Installation of the new transmission mount begins by following the fastener notice to achieve correct assembly. Screw the transmission or transfer case adapter mounting bolts down with 50 nm of torque (37 ft. Lbs.) before returning the transmission to its normal position. Secure the transmission mount to the retention nut on the transmission support while applying 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) torque. The transmission jack should be removed before lowering the vehicle in its final stage.
