Starting the replacement of the cruise control release switch requires negative Battery Cable disconnect and proper safety measures. As the next step you need to take out the knee bolster on the instrument panel before disconnecting the cruise control release switch electrical connector. The lock nut should be loosened so you can extract the cruise control release switch from the brake pedal bracket by rotating it in a counter-clockwise direction. The cruise control release switch needs to be inserted into the brake pedal bracket slot by performing a clockwise rotation. Use the probes of the dmm to examine the electrical connector's sides and adjust the switch after depressing the clutch pedal so it rests 20-30 mm (0.8-1.2 in) from the floor. To obtain continuity for the cruise control release switch continuously turn it clockwise into the brake pedal bracket and tighten the lock nut to 13 n.m (115 lb in). Reinstall the knee bolster to the instrument panel after you reconnect the electrical connector to the cruise control release switch.
