Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2004 Buick LeSabre?
A: First to replace the turn signal switch, disable the SIR system and extracted the upper and lower trim covers, just remember the connector from the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness assembly for refitting. Next, the wire harness assembly from the wire harness strap and disconnect the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector from the SIR system coil connector. Slide the two connectors that connect the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly out of the bulkhead connector, followed by taking off the two pan head tapping screws and . Then, remove the assembly of turn signal and multifunction switch assembly and pull it out of the steering column tilt head assembly. For installation, locate the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly, positioning it on the steering column tilt head assembly while the electrical contact lays on the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Secure the assembly with bottom screw for the two pan head tapping screws and tighten it to 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) for the top screw and to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) for the side screw. The two connectors of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly should be slid along the bulkhead connector and the assembly connector attached to the coil of SIR. Also, reinstall the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness assembly, having the ignition lock cylinder case wires and connector in the right place. Finally, replace the wire harness assembly into the wire harness strap and attach the upper and lower trim covers and enable the SIR system.
