2004 Buick Park Avenue Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator on 2004 Buick Park Avenue?
A: Start the Radiator replacement by taking off cooling fans plus hood latch support and upper Radiator seal. Destrop the top sections of the upper Radiator Hose and lower Radiator Hose from the Radiator with hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Using the cooler quick connect tool (J 41623-B) to detach the upper and lower transmission oil cooler lines you can obtain access to the transaxle oil cooler pipe quick connect fittings by peeling the plastic caps. Before removing the Radiator from the vehicle, disable the overflow hose, remove the condenser to Radiator mounting screws and the upper Radiator mounting bracket's retaining bolts and brackets. Install the new Radiator by attaching its upper brackets and their retaining bolts while tightening them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Apply the extended-length bolt to the condenser to Radiator end tank to protect it from destruction. Begin by installing the condenser mounting bolts at 13 nm (10 ft. Lbs.), then install the overflow hose and proceed with attaching lower and upper transmission oil cooler lines. Use the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to install the lower and upper Radiator hoses before placing the plastic cap over transaxle oil cooler pipe quick connect fittings and reinstalling the upper Radiator seal, hood latch support and cooling fans. Check the transmission oil level.
