A technician should utilize hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to loosen and move the inlet Radiator Hose clamp until it can be removed from the Thermostat Housing. After removing the Thermostat Housing bolts you can proceed to remove the Thermostat Housing before extracting the Thermostat. Clean all surfaces where gaskets will mate then install a fresh Thermostat and new gasket along with the Thermostat Housing . Secure the Thermostat Housing bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) torque specification then install both the inlet Radiator Hose and clamp. Complete the procedure by filling up the cooling system then replacing the engine cover.
