How to service and repair the thermostat on Buick Park Avenue?

Service and repair work starts with removing the engine cover before moving forward. Use spring hose clamp pliers (J38185) to loosen clamp on the inlet Radiator Hose at the Thermostat Housing. Loosen the inlet hose at the housing and remove the Thermostat Housing bolts before removing the housing and its Thermostat. All service items start by cleaning the housing gasket engagement areas together with the intake port surface. Install the new Thermostat before putting the Thermostat Housing in place alongside a fresh gasket. Secure the Thermostat Housing with its bolts to a torque of 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). After reconnecting the inlet Radiator Hose with its clamp install new engine cooling fluid into the system before leak testing and mounting the vehicle's engine cover.
