2004 Buick Regal Thermostat Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the thermostat on 2004 Buick Regal?
A: Begin Thermostat replacement by removing the fuel injector sight shield followed by partially draining the cooling system. Skillfully reposition the hose clamp using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) at the water outlet housing before removing the radiator inlet hose from this housing. Start by taking out the water outlet housing bolt and stud before removing the water outlet housing with its gasket. Remove the Thermostat and clean all surfaces where the water outlet housing gaskets mate. The installation process begins with Thermostat placement followed by gasket fitting then water outlet housing insertion. Tighten the water outlet housing bolt and the stud to 27 nm torque (20 ft. Lbs.). Screw back the radiator inlet hose onto the water outlet housing before securing the hose clamp into position with hose clamp pliers (J 38185). After filling the cooling system, install the fuel injector sight shield.
