The battery positive cable requires that you push down on the electrical center tabs to remove its cover. Then detach the nut which holds the cable to the electrical center. To begin work access the generator output bat terminal by moving aside its protective boot then disconnect the battery positive lead from both the generator output bat terminal. The procedure now involves removing the Starter terminal nut then disconnecting the battery positive cable from the Starter after which you should lower the vehicle to remove the battery positive cable from engine access. Install battery operation by placing the positive cable over the engine before lifting and supporting the vehicle. Affix the battery positive cable to the Starter while installing and torquing the Starter terminal nut to 13 n.m (115 lb in). The generator requires connection of the battery positive lead which should be followed by bat terminal nut installation and tightness to 13 n.m (115 lb in). Attach the protective boot to the generator output bat terminal before lowering the vehicle and fasten the battery positive cable nut at the electrical center with a torque of 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Fill the electrical center with the cover then connect the positive Battery Cable to its terminal before tightening it to 17 n.m (13 lb ft) before reconnecting the negative cable.
