Start the procedure by first removing the bolt that retains the battery negative cable to the side rail before disconnecting the body harness connector from the battery negative cable. The installation process begins with removing the bolt holding the battery negative cable to the engine block followed by dropping the vehicle to remove the cable from the engine. Position the battery negative cable toward the engine then install it to the engine stud before tightening the stud to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Install the bolt to fasten the negative Battery Cable onto the side rail while applying torque to 36 n.m (27 lb ft). Connect the body harness connector to the battery negative cable before reattaching it back to the original position ensuring the cable has the same specifications and the same routing path.
