- Q: How to disconnect the negative battery cable for calibration of the power sunroof, power windows, and heat and A/C control head on 2006 Cadillac SRX?A: Before disconnecting the battery negative cable turn off all lamps and appendages with ignition set to off position. The next step requires removal of the battery negative cable which connects to the battery. Follow these installation steps by connecting the battery negative cable to the battery while torquing the bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Also remove all corrosion from the battery terminal and Battery Cable bolt and cable. After activating the run position in the ignition you must stop the sunroof operation with the power sunroof switch at least for 3 seconds after full closure. After the sunroof reaches the tilt position hold the switch for three seconds and then make a full window opening while holding the switch for another three seconds before finally closing the window using the switch for three seconds. To calibrate power windows follow these instructions for each separate window. To calibrate the power windows place the ignition switch into the run position and maintain pressure on the Power Window Switch while allowing it to reach the full down position for 3 seconds followed by a 3 second hold while it reaches the full up position. To calibrate heat and a/c control functions users must activate the ignition switch to the run position and apply simultaneous press and hold of the auto and off buttons on the heat and a/c control head for 5 seconds until stepper motors complete one cycle. The tire pressure sensor system needs a relearning procedure when required.
