How to replace the rear door check link on 2004 Cadillac SRX?

You must start by taking off the door trim panel followed by detaching the forward section of the water deflector from the door panel to reach the door check link. Begin by disconnecting the door check link bolts at both hinge pillar and door before extracting the door check link through the door opening. Place the door check link into the door opening before tightening the two door check link to door nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Secure the door check link arm to the center pillar bolt but only tighten it to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Reinstall both components of the water deflector along with the door trim panel.
