The first step for front door check replacement requires you to remove the door trim panel. The forward segment of the water deflector needs to be pulled back from the door panel for checking the link. First disconnect the door check from the body bolt and from the door nuts after taking out the check from the door. Start by installing the check into the door while strictly following the instructions in Service Precautions regarding fastener installation. The check nuts need to be secured using 9 N.m of torque while staying within 80 lb in range. Fasten the check arm to the front body hinge pillar bolt and tighten it with the same torque value of 9 N.m (80 lb in). After installation of the door trim panel you need to install the water deflector.
