Start by taking off the door trim panel before replacing the door check located on the front side of the vehicle. You will gain access to the check by pulling out the front part of the water deflector that is attached to the door panel. First remove the check from both its body bolt and door nuts followed by taking it off from the door. Set the check into the door opening while observing the necessary installation steps in Service Precautions. Screw the check nuts tightly until they reach 9 N.m (80 lb in) before fastening the check arm onto the front body hinge pillar bolt by securing it to 9 N.m (80 lb in). End your installation by putting back the water deflector alongside installing the door trim panel.
