How to replace the grille emblem on 2005 Cadillac SRX?

To remove the grille emblem and replace it with a new one, you will need to first heat up the loose emblem using the J 25070 Heat Gun (J 25070) which you should do from about 152 mm (6 in) away from the emblem surface in a circle motion until the emblem can be removed from the grille. Cautiously, take out either the loose wreath or crest either side from the grille without damaging the painted surface. Then take away the old emblem adhesive with plastic flat-bladed tool after which you may clean the area using 3M(R) P/N 07501 (07501) or product of equivalent and then rinse with warm soap and water and thoroughly wiping with a lint-free towel. For installing, clean the area with a clean lint-free cloth and 50/50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and H2O, and make sure not to touch the adhesive tape or place it on dirt. Peel the backing off the adhesive tape, match up the holes on the back of the emblem with the grille and from bottom to top push the emblem firmly into place for 30 seconds.
