The 5l40-e transmission automatic transmission fluid cooler requires the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) for replacement. The first step involves removing A/C Condenser mounting bolts then adjusting condenser position for auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler access. First disconnect the Transmission Oil Cooler lines from their toc connections then unfasten the toc line from its retainer clip. After unfastening the toc mounting bolts you should extract the toc device. To install the new toc place the unit in position then tighten the mounting bolts to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). Secure the toc lines to the toc while tightening each fitting to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) then reinsert the toc line to the toc retainer clip. Complete the installation by repositioning then reinstalling the condenser.
