Start by using transmission cooler quick disconnect (J 44827) to separate the front toc lines from the rear toc lines and then uninstall the rear toc line to transmission retainer bolt before removing the rear toc lines from the transmission. The repair work begins by discarding damaged o-rings while using the proper tool to remove the toc retainer bracket bolt. The retainer bracket rivets can be accessed after the toc lines are repositioned. Each line must be removed to drill out rivets for retainer bracket removal. The installation begins with attaching the toc lines and the retainer bracket after which the bracket needs to be fastened to the lines with rivets. Install new o-rings onto the rear toc lines before connecting them to the transmission while the toc retainer bracket bolt receives a torque of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). The technician must install and tighten the rear toc line to transmission retainer bolt to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) prior to connecting front toc lines to the rear toc lines. The installation requires reinstallation of lh intermediate shaft bearing assembly as well as the engine Oil Filter. A halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) must be used for leak detection following the installation work.
