2004 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heater Core on 2004 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: One must first raise the hood and disconnect the negative Battery Cable while following safety precautions before working on the battery. The next step requires removal of both the instrument panel assembly along with the heater/air distribution case from the vehicle. The Heater Core replacement starts with unfastening the lower cover's linkage screw which makes it possible to detach the linkage lever alongside keeping mental notes about all lever placements for reinstallation. The case requires gentle handling to prevent linkage lever damage before you remove the screws which secure the Heater Core cover and slowly separate its lower component from the assembly while keeping sealant intact. Separate the screws holding the Heater Core lines in place to the case before cutting loose the spring clamp securing the Heater Core body to the case followed by removing the Heater Core itself. After setting the Heater Core inside the case you must fasten the Heater Core lines with the retaining bracket clamp while screwing it in place. Reinstall the Heater Core body using the retaining spring clamp before resealing the Heater Core cover mounting channel flange then secure it with retaining screws. Fasten the linkage lever against the cover post by screw before verifying the correct working of the heater/air distribution case door actuating levers. The technician should reposition the heater/air distribution case afterward placing the instrument panel assembly before refilling the cooling system and reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
