    A: In order to change intake camshaft and lifters, start by taking off camshaft cover and upper Timing Chain Guide. Next, install the camshaft sprocket holding tool j 43655 and remove all the camshaft sprocket bolts from the intake and exhaust, discarding them afterwards. Slip the camshaft sprockets forward and unscrew Power Steering Pump bolts, setting that pump off to the side. Mark the bearing caps so that in event they must be reinstalled, they will be in their correct location to prevent twisting the camshaft; remove each bolt on each cap one/or more turns at a time until the spring tension from the camshaft is released. Go ahead with removing the bearing caps, intake camshaft, camshaft roller followers, and hydraulic elements lash adjusters. For installation, lubricate valve tips and install the hydraulic element lash adjusters, camshaft roller followers in matching alignment with camshaft sprocket's notches. Install the intake camshaft and the camshaft bearing caps tightening the bearing caps bolts in the increments of 3 turns until seated, then 10 nm (89 inch lbs). Coat with the anaerobic sealer, gm p/n 1052942 (Canadian P/N 10953466) of 5-mm (0.197 inch) bead, the rear intake camshaft bearing cap and tighten the rear intake camshaft bearing cap bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Next, install the camshaft sprockets onto the camshafts and tighten the new camshaft sprocket bolts by hand before removing the camshaft sprocket holding tool (J 43655) to tighten the camshaft sprocket bolts to 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs. Plus 30 degrees. Lastly, install the upper time chain guide but tighten it at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs) and install the Power Steering Pump with a torque of 25 nm (19 ft. Lbs) and end the process by installing the camshaft cover.
