  • Q: How to replace the Rack and Pinion in an automatic transmission on 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: For an automatic transmission vehicle, lift the vehicle onto a hoist before changing the Rack And Pinion. First, take out the lower pinch bolt from the intermediate shaft, and then take off the front suspension crossmember. Unplug the power steering hoses from the Rack And Pinion and take out the three bolts that connect the Rack And Pinion to the front suspension crossmember.
