How to replace the Body Control Module (BCM) on 2004 Chevrolet Malibu?

Start replacement of the Body Control Module by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Start by taking away the right console trim panel parts and unscrewing the bcm device. Unplug the bcm wire harness and take out its unit. The new bcm should first be positioned in place before the bcm wire harness connectors are reconnected following the fastener instructions from service precautions. Install the bcm by fastening screws and tighten them to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Place the right console trim back in place and connect the negative battery terminal. Reprogram the new or replaced bcm according to instructions when installing it.
