How to replace the wiper arm on 2004 Chevrolet Malibu?

Begin the process by locating the wiper arms in their park setting then lifting up the hood. Detach washer hose connections from the air inlet grille panel followed by removal of Wiper Arm nut finish cap and Wiper Arm nut. The Wiper Arm removal tool (J 39637) lets you take off the Wiper Arm from its position on the wiper pivot shaft. Use your hand to start the Wiper Arm nut before installing it on the wiper module pivot shaft. Position the Wiper Blade to match the wiper dots on the windshield as you put the Wiper Arm in place. Put the Wiper Arm nut in place while positioning the Wiper Arm on the wiper dot and tighten it to 35 n.m (25 lb ft). After finishing the Wiper Arm nut install the washer hose connectors to the inlet air grille. Check windshield wiper functions afterward before putting the hood back.
