How to replace the hood latch on 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Before starting the Hood Latch replacement you need to remove the grille from the vehicle. The appropriate marking device or grease pencil should be used to indicate where the latch will sit on the mounting bracket. To remove the Hood Latch first disconnect its mounting bolts then free the Hood Latch cable from the platform to detach the whole component from the vehicle. Install the Hood Latch by attaching the cable to the latch then placing its location at the previous bracket mark. Secure the bolts that retain the latch to the mounting bracket by tightness of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Before closing the hood inspect its latch operation then adjust the latch position according to the hood striker.
